MR may largely be done for the year, but that didn’t stop a number of the community turning out to help coach the next generation of long-range shooters as part of the BYSA November weekend. Another 11 potential MR’ists got to experience long range shooting, with coaching and training delivered by a number of current GB & home country MR squad members.![]()
A small team Competition on Sunday morning even saw prizes presented by our esteemed & victorious 2025 GB MR Team Captain, Si Whitby!BYSA BONFIRE BONANZA 2025![]()
This weekend saw 192 BYSA members, including alumni and current students from 18 universities, descend on the NRA’s National Shooting Centre at Bisley for our annual ‘Bonfire Bonanza’ event. ![]()
Over the two days, participants had the opportunity to shoot one of the NRA's shooting disciplines, including: Target Rifle, Civilian Service Rifle, Historic Service Rifle, Gallery Rifle & Pistol, Match Rifle and McQueen, with training spread over three ability levels, beginner, intermediate and advanced, all with a view to producing safe, confident and self-reliant young shooters who are competent to enter competitions in their chosen discipline. ![]()

To all those BYSA members too numerous to mention who turned out to help coach and instruct others, or who volunteered to be on the ‘Hog Roast crew’, and to our volunteer Committee, and our many Discipline Sub-Committees; we thank them all for their tireless efforts putting the weekend together. As always it is very much appreciated. ![]()
