GB Match Rifle
As the end of the season approaches, the English Eight Autumn meeting provided some healthy competition last weekend.Saturday brought calm and warm conditions which kept the scores across three distances very tight, with the top 20 separated by just four points. Ken Willingale led the field having dropped only a single point and took The Dram Trophy (Saturday agg), with Angus McLeod and Rob Lygoe in second and third just one point behind.Sunday started at 1100 yards with similar conditions to Saturday, however the conditions were to become more challenging for 1200 yards, as a strengthening wind opened up the field.Rob Lygoe managed the conditions best of all, only dropping one point at 1200 yards leaving him three off for the whole weekend and winning The Stamford Young Trophy (Weekend agg, along with a few other trophies), with Angus McLeod and Zoe Woodroffe second and third.Zoe wrapped up a good weekend by taking home The Ladies Trophy and The Donegall Badge. It was a good weekend for Scotland with Thomas Nightingale taking home both Under 25 trophies.Congratulations to all the winners and many thanks to the very hard working organizers. For full results please see www.englisheight.org.uk/For a more details write up please visit gbmatchrifle.org.uk/Photos courtesy of Silke Lohmann ...
